Tenuta di Morzano is an estate founded in 1988. It is located in the municipality of Montespertoli, more precisely on the hill of Morzano from which it takes its name. The estate is a result of the union of several properties adjacent to the farm Nonno Nanni and annexed lands formerly belonging to Luciano and Nino Mignilli, for a total of approximately 140 hectares. The current owners of Tenuta di Morzano are Luciano Mignolli and his daughter Francesca. The vineyard is planted with Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Canaiolo, Shiraz, Colorino, Teroldego, Chardonnay, Malvasia and Trebbiano grapes. The aromas and flavors of Tuscan terroir reach their maximum expression thanks to a wise work in the vineyard and to the cooperation with one of the greatest leader of the world oenology, Dr. Riccardo Cotarella. The average annual production is about 160,000 bottles of which 105,000 between Chianti Docg and Chianti Montespertoli DOCG. Sangiovese is the absolute ruler of grapes in all red wines produced by the Estate and sometimes it is blended with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz. The terroir of Montespertoli can manage to mitigate the vehemence and the austerity of the vines that hosts giving them extraordinary harmony and elegance.
